Hmm. Connections. That makes sense. It seems to be a similarity between you and the other Sonics. You all put emphasis on those connections. Friends and family. It motivates you.
[He crosses his arms and looks away from the camera for a moment thinking about this.]
Learning to focus the energy when you feel an intense reaction instead of unleashing it may be best way forward.
Learning to utilize those connections and the feelings about them on command could lead to bigger bursts of energy. Or learning to release the burst in smaller, more controlled amounts.
I can do tiny ones. [He holds back the phone and extends his opposite hand as far from it as he can, just so he didn't risk the phone, letting the energy crackles around his fingers.] Gives an extra little kick to punches and kicks, you know?
But I guess its really how small can it be while still being an EMP.
Most of the stuff that can actually threaten me on Earth is tech based. Like there's an occasional other alien who shows up who can potentially kick my butt, though I keep befriending them so mileage varies on that being an actual concern, but most of the problems is when GUN decides that 'ooooh, the blue blur is just living his life, we gotta go taze him or hit him with a gravity machine because we have unresolved control and trust issues.' [He rolls his eyes.]
When it comes to the soldiers, they can't do much, and sure, not all machines rely on electricity, but everything they make to actually contain me requires power, so if I can just shut it off, that'd be great. Less risk of me having to hurt people and if they're gonna accuse me of murder and plotting to steal a superweapon when I didn't even know I'd be talking to the guy that day because I was camping when they asked for my help, they can deal with the fried tech. If they're gonna justify my paranoia, then its really their own fault.
[Shadow is quiet for a long moment. He listens and watches Sonic as he unloads a little there. GUN is complicated. They fear what they cannot control. They fear that which is stronger than they are. It is their natural reaction. Shadow has been on the receiving end of it before.]
I do not know the science. But I imagine a controlled EMP is possible. Some way for you to generate it my moving at some increased speed while charging your energy into your quills or your feet.
[He has a lot of thoughts and frustrations with GUN and no years upon years of heroics and hero worship to help him out.]
Quills.
Speed isn't a requirement. But the biggest one I've done involved a lot of prolonged running first and that lasted longest. I've done it for solely a spindash, standing still, and when Shadow and I took down Tokyo, I was focused more on just pulling up the energy to try and hit him head on and didn't really have space to go for speed.
Then find a way to focus your energy into your quills and release it in smaller amounts. Fine tune your control. That way you do not take out the power of all of Nightwake or Dayrise with your power. I doubt the locals would appreciate it much.
It would. And a trip would be enough to get out of most traps or really deal with a lot of tech. [Speedster only needs a moment or two.] a whole power grid would be like....I need to cut off some kind of invasion force, which isn't fully off the table, but I could also probably easily get to real high emotions then.
So trips. We should work on being able to weaponize trips.

Date: 2025-03-03 01:45 am (UTC)Still, easiest for me to focus on my family and friends when I want to get sparky. Better than a lot of other things I could try.
Would that make it easier to summon up those bigger bursts of energy eventually?

We could practice it together.

Yeah, tripping the power.
The fry takes a lot more effort and intense emotions.

Attach those to something for testing!
That's what Tails would do, I think.
